| About our Instructors Larry Riley Owner and Authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor, OSHA Safety Consultant Larry D. Riley is an authorized OSHA 500 & 501 trainer and has been actively involved in workplace safety for over 15 years. He began his career in safety while working with the City of North Lauderdale, Florida when he implemented a safety program for the city's Fleet Maintenance Department.
In 2003 Larry joined Florida Power and Light Company at the St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant and was an integral part of their comprehensive health & safety program. While in this capacity Larry was instrumental in helping new outside contractors become familiar with Florida Power & Light's Safety programs by conducting formal pre-bid award safety training and informal in-course safety tailgate training. Larry's expertise in conducting hazard analysis and proactive safety inspections coupled with his easy to understand training style make him a popular OSHA compliance trainer. He has successfully taught well over 1000 hours of workplace safety and OSHA standards. He has incorporated past examples and experiences in his teaching programs. Showing the students how easy it is to be OSHA compliant. In 2009 Mr. Riley trained over 2,600 people in an OSHA Update on Electrical Safety including Arc Flash Hazards seminar which were held in 33 cities across the United States including Hawaii and Puerto Rico. These training sessions are the result of the Workplace Safety Awareness Councils award of the Susan Harwood grant program by the Department of Labor and OSHA.
Larry has presented at the World Workplace Conference in Orlando 2009 for International Facility Managers Association, along with teaching at the 2009 Beacon Mutual Insurance Company Safety Fair in Warwick, RI. Since then Larry has also taught the OSHA Electrical update for Fortune 500 companies like CVS, along with several other smaller companies.

James Zimmerman 
OSHA Outreach Trainer, Construction Safety Specialist,
Over the years Jim has worked troubleshooting and repairing air conditioners, both residential and commercial. Jim has also installed air conditioning systems in new construction. For awhile he worked as a Code Enforcement Officer. Early on in Jim's career he became safety minded when he worked performing start-up procedures on new size reduction equipment systems, grinders, pulverizers, etc. for domestic and international customers.
Jim also performed rebuilds and repairs on the equipment being on 24 hour call most of the time. He has had extensive international travel experience and on-site customer service. Strong customer relationships have been maintained by providing emergency repair service and instructional seminars.
Jim began his career as a pipefitter in NYC and has extensive experience with welding, assembler, crane operator, machinery repair and maintenance, building maintenance, sheet metal work, plumbing, painting, a/c work, auto mechanics, small engine repair, drill press operator and balancer. He also has knowledge of residential and commercial roofing, cement work and carpentry (construction and finish work).
Jim takes very seriously his commitment to instruct others to work in a safe manner in all forms of the construction industry.

Mr. Casavant serves as Executive Director at the Workplace Safety Awareness Council, a 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization dedicated to increasing employee health and safety in the workplace. His organization offers compliance consultations, webinars and OSHA Bootcamp seminars to employees and employers hoping to become OSHA compliant and better protect the workforce. Over the past three years, the Workplace Safety Awareness Council was awarded a training grant for the U.S. Department of Labor to help the public better understand OSHA's complicated health & safety regulations. David also serves as editor of the OSHA Advisor, a monthly e-newsletter whose mission is keeping its readers up to date with ever changing OSHA compliance rules and interpretations.
In 2003 David was awarded IFMA's "Distinguished Author" designation at World Workplace in Dallas Texas for his book entitled "Emergency Preparedness for Facility Managers - A Guide to Business Continuity and Safety Planning".
In 2007 the Workplace Safety Awareness Council developed and released the OSHA Navigator PRO, a compliance software product designed to assist users with quickly becoming compliant with OSHA regulations including those involving emergency preparedness, fire safety and hazardous chemical release. In addition to authoring three interactive CD programs on safety compliance, David has written hundreds of articles for dozens of trade magazines.
